Quizzes, tastings and round tables: the Craft Beer Fest starts today in Lisbon

The first edition of the festival that celebrates the passion for Portuguese craft beers runs until September

The largest restaurant in Terreiro do Paço sets off in March on a journey from north to south of the country in an ode to Portuguese craft beer, presenting a brand each week and offering an immersive experience in beer culture.

The festival begins on March 6th with the launch of the beer “Terreiro”, a new craft beer brand from the Beer Museum, in homage to the square that bears its name. This beer, a Session IPA, is the result of a combination of oat malts, Citra and Mosaic hops, ingredients that give it an intense profile of citrus and tropical fruits in memory of the Portuguese navigators who set sail from the Tagus to conquer the world.

The official presentation of “Terreiro” is scheduled for March 6th, at 7pm, with Beer Sommelier Daniel Teodósio and Brand Ambassador of the craft beer 2 Corvos, Luís Figueira, the partner beer in this launch. The following day, at the same time, there will be a tasting of 5 craft beers, including Terreiro, in a commented tasting. Participation, which costs 15 Euros per person, is limited to 15 people and requires prior registration.

The following week, on March 11th, 2 Corvos takes to the stage, followed by Praxis and then Musa craft beers, the protagonists of March. Until September, each week other craft beer brands will have space at the Beer Museum to present themselves to the world. Portuguese craft beer producers will be invited to tell the stories that inspired them to create their brands, with discussion groups and commented tastings for each one, challenging visitors to find the ideal beer for their palate.

Throughout the festival, beer lovers will be put to the test in time trial games to test their knowledge of the most consumed alcoholic drink in the world.
