Museu da Cerveja e Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau são Vencedores do Travel & Hospitality Awards 2022

Beer Museum and Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau are Winners of the Travel & Hospitality Awards 2022

The Travel & Hospitality Awards, an annual celebration of excellence in the tourism and travel sector that annually highlights the best hotels, spas, restaurants, and tour operators around the world, announced this Saturday, March 26, that two brands of the Value of Time Group – the Beer Museum and Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau - were awarded in its European Travel Awards 2022 program.

In a press release, the Travel & Hospitality Awards organization reported that the winners were carefully selected based on the aggregation of third-party reviews and selected by a panel of experts who analyze customer feedback, demonstrating the uniqueness of spaces, quality of facilities and exceptional levels of customer service across multiple categories.

The Beer Museum was awarded for its uniqueness, as a restaurant that enhances the flavours of Portuguese cuisine and that adds to this experience a museum that presents, in a multisensory and playful journey, the History of beer for more than 7000 years.

Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau won the prize for the unlikely and unexpected combination of success that is the gastronomic delicacy, the Codfish Cake with Serra da Estrela PDO cheese, with music played live on a 19th century pipe organ, in its store in Gaia Pier, in a toast to the shepherds of Serra da Estrela Mountain and the producers of Port wine.

This year, the program received more than 22,000 nominations from venues around the world. The judging panel chose as winners the businesses they considered reflect the best in travel and hospitality standards and the Travel & Hospitality Awards organizers said they hope that “this guide will be a useful tool for discerning travelers planning their next luxury trip”. The full list of winners will be revealed in the annual awards publication that will be available online in July at www.thawards.com.

About the Beer Museum

Open to the public in 2012, the Beer Museum is both a restaurant to enjoy the best Portuguese gastronomy has to offer and a playful and multisensory museum that presents the history of beer over 7000 years, proudly displaying the Portuguese legacy, celebrating the more than 100 craft beers produced in the country.

If art marks the interior of the space, the magnitude of Terreiro do Paço marks the outer space: on the largest terrace in the country, the Beer Museum offers unique moments of leisure and a good dose of vitamin D, sponsored by the incredible light of the city and by the Tagus River as a backdrop. An unmissable experience that offers Lisbon in all its splendor, with the taste of a good beer in an exclusive cup designed by Júlio Pomar.

About Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau

Under the motto “It is the voice of the land yearning for the sea”, from the poem D. Dinis, by the poet Fernando Pessoa, the first store of the Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau opened in 2015, on Rua Augusta, in Lisbon, as a way of bringing the coast of the interior, celebrating two icons of Portuguese gastronomy: the codfish cake and the Serra da Estrela PDO cheese. To this duo, which combines two traditional flavours in a unique speciality, Porto wine has been added, in a trio that promises a true «Portugal Experience».

True to its concept, there are now eight stores: in Lisbon, in Rua Augusta, in Castelo de S. Jorge, in Cais do Sodré and in the Santa Justa elevator, in Cascais, in Aveiro, in Porto, next to the Torre dos Clérigos and in Gaia.
