The Fantastic World of the Portuguese Sardine
The Fantastic World of the Portuguese Sardine

The Portuguese dared to brave the vast Ocean Sea. They entered it without fear. They discovered new islands, new lands, new seas, new peoples and, more than that, a new sky and new stars.

Pedro Nunes (1502-1578)

The sardine is more than just a fish – it’s memory, celebration, history. It’s one of the most authentic symbols of Portugal in the world. In this universe, we’ve reinvented the tradition of canned fish and put it on stage: colours, music, lights, and a setting that nods to circus arts and popular soul. Every tin tells a story. Every shop is a show. It’s Portugal as magic, ready to take home.

In this fantastic world, the spectacle is in the form – but the truth lies in the content. Behind the colours and the music, there’s something deeply serious: a story of respect for people and for the sea. Our production is small, made with time, with care, with hands that preserve the artisanal methods used when our factory was founded in 1942.

We only use responsibly sourced fish, because protecting the oceans also means protecting who we are. Only then can we continue to enjoy meals that are quick, tasty, easy to prepare, healthy, versatile, long-lasting, and easy to carry and travel with.
