A session dedicated to Filé de Felgueiras, a distinctive expression of the municipality’s textile heritage.
The event begins with a round-table discussion on the historical and cultural significance of this craft, featuring José Ribeiro, who led the historical research that supported the Caderno de Encargos for Filé de Felgueiras, together with artisans Maria Adelaide Freitas, Clara Maria de Freitas Sampaio and Maria Helena de Freitas Sampaio Vieira de Castro, guardians of a know-how passed down through generations.
This will be followed by the “Teias do Filé” workshop, led by artisan Elisabete Soares, where participants will be able to follow the different stages of the Filé de Felgueiras making process and try the technique themselves.
