An event celebrating Saint Eligius Day, honouring the patron saint of goldsmiths and jewellers, which transforms the Carmo Jewellery Museum Gallery into a traditional goldsmith’s workshop. Through historical re-enactments, live demonstrations and hands-on activities led by CINDOR trainers and former trainees, visitors are invited to discover the legacy of master goldsmiths, explore the traditional techniques of goldsmithing and filigree, and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of passing these skills on to future generations in order to preserve Portugal’s heritage and traditional crafts.
