Commemorative initiative marking Saint Eligius’ Day, the patron saint of goldsmiths and jewellers, transforming the Carmo Jewellery Museum Gallery into a traditional goldsmith’s workshop.
Welcomed by a Master Goldsmith, visitors are invited to discover the world of Portuguese goldsmithing and filigree through historical re-enactments, live demonstrations and hands-on activities led by CINDOR trainers and former trainees. A journey through the legacy of master goldsmiths, traditional techniques and the transmission of knowledge that continues to preserve and uphold the excellence of these crafts and Portugal’s cultural heritage.
