Joalharia do Carmo opens new stores in Óbidos and Ponta Delgada
The brand focused exclusively on Portuguese Certified Filigree in 2022. After the success and 99 years after its foundation, the jewelry shop goes beyond the borders of the capital.
Opened in Óbidos on March 2nd and in Ponta Delgada 13 days later. The new Joalharia do Carmo stores breathe tradition and elegance, maintaining the popular context of Filigree that is enhanced with sapphires and diamonds and asserts itself at the epicenter of national jewelery.
The new stores were inspired by Minho and the pilgrimage arches to praise the star of the constellation: the Filigree. The project was in charge of Par Interior Design, which focused on pastel tones, the richness of the details and the grace of the jewels to give nobility to the spaces, breaking with the conventional model of jewellery, which is normally very standardized and formal.
In Óbidos, musicians from a bandstand inspired by the popular art of Barcelos Figurines are the hosts, rhythmed by music and movement. They invite to the refinement of the interior, where the environment is of fantasy. An adorned pilgrimage arch makes the passage to the space with furniture that is filled with Filigree pieces entirely made by hand, guaranteeing that no two pieces are alike – and therefore, certified – and where the figurative illustrations of the painter Isabel Botelho, created specifically for the brand, bring the store to life and enhance the jewelry.
In Ponta Delgada, the popular character is guaranteed by the unexpected, but happy, sharing of space with Comur canned fish, close by, in an equally distinguished space. With the same pastel tones, the arch and the illustrations guiding the environment, Filigree presents itself as the quintessence, the highest degree of perfection and sophistication of national jewellery, illuminated by an imposing chandelier that makes it shine (even) more.
As a milestone of the opening of two new stores, Joalharia do Carmo launches a novelty: the Carmo heart, a signature jewel with an exclusive design, which hides pleasures reserved only for those who own it.
Portuguese Filigree proved to be a success in Lisbon, when in 2022 Joalharia do Carmo focused exclusively on certified pieces, produced in the artisanal production units of Gondomar and Póvoa de Lanhoso, a “guarantee seal” that proves its authenticity, synonymous with prestige and distinction. The appreciation of artisanal techniques, the defense of artisans and the protection of manual production of industrial imitations are at the heart of the “revolution” operated by the brand, which in less than six months expands to other cities in the country.
