Gold on Blue is a quarterly series of talks that forms part of the cultural programme of Joalharia do Carmo and CINDOR’s Porto Hub. Under the theme “Jewellery Talks in Porto”, the initiative aims to celebrate and promote Portuguese goldsmithing, jewellery and filigree as cultural, artistic and economic heritage, bringing the public closer to the crafts, expertise and stories that have shaped this remarkable legacy.
Each session welcomes a distinguished guest to reflect on a range of topics related to jewellery, history, art, design, innovation and identity, fostering a dialogue between tradition and contemporary practice.
The inaugural edition will feature historian Joel Cleto, who will lead the talk “The Golden Secrets of Rua das Flores”. Drawing on the history of Rua das Flores, he will revisit the places, people and memories that made goldsmithing one of the defining elements in the historical, economic and cultural identity of the city of Porto.
