Cultural Programme
"Inside us there is something that has no name; that something is what we are.”
José Saramago (1922-2010)
Culture lies at the heart of who we are. Preserving and promoting Portugal’s tangible and intangible heritage is part of a vision that seeks to give meaning to time, create lasting memories, and pass on to future generations what we have inherited from those who came before us. It is from this commitment that Grupo O Valor do Tempo’s Cultural Programme was born – a meeting place for history, knowledge and creativity.
The Group’s brands and cultural venues host exhibitions, book launches, concerts, conferences, workshops, talks and other initiatives that foster access to culture and encourage dialogue between diverse audiences, reflecting the Group’s commitment to helping build a society that is more aware of its roots. At the same time, this programme reinforces the Group’s social economy mission by giving visibility and a voice to the people, crafts and traditional knowledge that are an integral part of Portugal’s identity and deserve to be preserved and passed on.
Because we believe the future can only be built by embracing our collective memory, the Cultural Programme embodies one of Grupo O Valor do Tempo’s strategic pillars: to elevate culture by ensuring its continuity and building bridges between the past and the present. Each initiative is an invitation to reconnect with the essence of who we are, celebrating the heritage, craftsmanship and cultural expressions that shape the Portuguese identity.
